Charles 5th fountain . {Pilar de Carlos V}, Granada

When you walk up to the Alhambra  in Granada you may encounter this fountain built by the the Emperor Charles 5th .

I made this Watercolour back in 1989   . It was part of a major exhibition in Dublin in that year  which was a big success . The exhibition catalogue said that “He describes himself as a romantic which implies a search for an absolute in the commonplace “.

i was 29  .I think that i liked a girl but my feelings were not  reciprocated .So i made the watercolour to express how i felt.
